Training Programs:

As the camp seeks to build a group of capable, confident leaders, we have begun the Counselor Helper Training(CHT) and Counselor Training(CT) programs to help continue the process of encouraging leaders. CHT candidates are selected by camp directors on the basis of references by church and youth leaders for the program. Upon being accepted, the candidates meet once a month for training on topics including:

Spiritual Foundation for camping ministry, how to lead small groups, how to glorify God through conflict, leading games with a purpose, and working with teens or children. Once the CH has completed the course they are invited to serve at one camp during the summer where a camp leader mentors them.

CT candidates must apply and be accepted into the program. Training includes one weekend in the month of May. They also must have completed the CHT program. As a camp leader they play a vital role in demonstrating God’s love to those who come. We praise God for this great group of young people who serve with us during the summer and at retreats during the year.
